The City of Atoka has experienced a surge of growth in recent years due to its location at the crossroads between Dallas, TX, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Fort Smith, AR. In addition, it made national headlines when Reba’s Place, a steakhouse and live music venue co-owned by Reba McIntyre and the Choctaw Nation, was unveiled in the city’s downtown.

Now poised to attract even more development, the City wanted to update its website with a professional look and feel to help encourage more investors.

Under the guidance of the City’s Industrial Development Authority, we created a design that incorporates a lot of colorful visuals, a bright color scheme, as well as a more intuitive navigation for city residents. We designed back-end forms that make it much easier for city staff to add meetings, job postings, and notifications. We included customized maps and added more text to help describe each of the city’s departments services.

All this was done with WCAG/ADA compliance in mind.
